Men's Basketball Hosts Old Dominion on Saturday for Senior Day

BIRMINGHAM – UAB (17-13, 9-8 C-USA) concludes the 2018-19 regular season on Saturday afternoon when they host Conference USA regular season champion Old Dominion (23-7, 13-4 C-USA) at 2PM. The game will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network on Facebook.
LAST TIME AGAINST ODU
The two teams met on Feb. 7 at Bartow Arena, with ODU coming away with a 70-59 victory. Three Blazers scored in double figures – Jalen Perry (14), Jeremiah Bell (13) and Zack Bryant (11) while Makhtar Gueye grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. The Monarchs' Ahmad Caver and B.J. Stith each scored 21 points in the victory.
THE SERIES
The UAB/ODU series began Jan. 20, 1983 when the teams were rivals in the Sun Belt Conference. In total, the Blazers and Monarchs have squared off a total of 32 times, with UAB holding a 20-12 advantage. The series was played every year from 1983 until 1991 and again from 2005 through 2008. Since ODU joined Conference USA in 2014, the teams have met six times, with the series deadlocked at 3-3.
