Hecking to be Honored on Senior Day Against No. 48 Memphis on Sunday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team plays it final home match on Sunday morning when it hosts No. 48 Memphis at Lakeshore Tennis Courts. The match begins at 10 a.m.
SENIOR DAY
Jana Hecking will be honored in a pre-match ceremony. The graduate student has been a Conference USA First Team Singles and CoSIDA All-District IV At Large selection. She won the Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship - Southern Region and has been a constant member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Dean's List as well as a Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal recipient.
UAB LATELY
UAB (9-7) has it toughest road trip of the season last weekend, falling to No. 15 Florida 7-0 and North Florida 6-1. Prior to that, the Blazers opened the Conference USA slate with a 6-1 victory over WKU on March 14.
MEMPHIS LATELY
Memphis (13-5) is coming off a 4-2 loss at No. 28 Iowa on March 13. Two days prior, the Tigers defeated Iowa 5-2 and also have a victory over No. 19 Tulsa.
THE SERIES AGAINST MEMPHIS
The teams have only met 27 times, with UAB holding a 14-13 edge. However, Memphis has won the last eight meetings.
THE LAST TIME AGAINST MEMPHIS
UAB had only four healthy players in the lineup as Memphis defeated the Blazer 4-0 on March 8, 2019.
