UAB Drops 4-2 Decision to No. 48 Memphis on Senior Day

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team jumped out to an early lead against No. 48 Memphis on Senior Day, but could not hold on as the Tigers came away with a 4-2 victory on Sunday afternoon.
In doubles, Adela Wasserbauerova and Mackenzie White were 6-3 winners on Court 2. Vanessa Mellynchuk and Enya Ratkic picked up a 7-5 victory on Court 3 to seal the point.
Memphis won the first three singles matches on Courts 1, 4 and six. Sydney Clarke got the Blazers within a point after she had a 6-4, 7-5 win on Court 2. The Tigers got the clincher on Court 5.
Prior to the match, Jana Hecking was honored as UAB's lone senior.

The Blazers head to Ruston, La. to face Southern Miss on April 2 and LA Tech on April 3.
