Kajabova Qualifies for ITA All-American Championships

BIRMINGHAM – Klara Kajabova has qualified for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's All-American Championships, Sept. 19-27, at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carlonia.
Last season Kajabova and doubles partner Kristyna Damaskova led the team with a 12-5 overall doubles record. The duo also excelled at home, collecting eight doubles victories. Their signature win of the season came against Alabama, where they earned a 7-6(5) win. In singles, Kajabova record seven wins, which was fourth best on the squad.
In 1997, Blazer Mirela Vladulescu defeated Georgia's Marissa Catlin 6-1, 6-1 to earn the ITA All-American singles title. Vladulescu was the first UAB player to earn the title.
Pre-qualifying rounds begin at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying rounds are set for Sept. 21-22, while the main draws are Sept. 23-27.
