Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Successful 2026 Season

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team put together a strong 2026 campaign, totaling 11 team victories and advancing to the quarterfinals of the American Conference Tournament. The Blazers were especially dominant at home, earning eight wins in Birmingham while compiling 50 singles victories and 27 doubles wins throughout the season.
Leading the way in singles play was Gresi Bajri, who paced the Blazers with 11 singles victories while remaining undefeated at home in singles competition. Nera Tesankic and Julia Caffarena each added nine singles wins on the season, while Antonia Ende collected eight victories. Klara Kajabova recorded seven singles wins and Kristyna Damaskova added six more for the Green and Gold.
In doubles competition, the duo of Damaskova and Kajabova led the team with a 12-5 overall doubles record, the best mark on the squad. The pair also excelled at home, collecting eight doubles victories in Birmingham. Their signature win of the season came against Alabama, where they earned a hard-fought 7-6(5) victory over an Alabama doubles tandem.
The pairing of Caffarena and Ende also delivered a strong season in doubles play. The duo finished with an 11-9 overall record, ranking second on the team, while matching the team-high with eight doubles victories at home.
UAB's consistent play throughout the spring helped the Blazers secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the American Conference Women's Tennis Championship, capping off a successful season highlighted by depth across the singles lineup and strong doubles performances.
