Brad Moss

Head Coach Casey Dunn named Brad Moss as the Recruiting Coordinator in July of 2023. Moss enters his 2nd season with the Blazers in 2025.
Moss was an assistant coach with Samford University from 2019-23. During this time, he worked with the catchers, hitters, and served as the first base coach. Also, he was in charge of on-campus recruiting under Head Coach Casey Dunn for three years, and Moss took over all recruiting duties after the departure of Coach Dunn in 2021.
As a member of the Samford University staff, Moss helped the program to four championships in five years, winning the regular season twice and SoCon Tournament twice. The Bulldogs went on to compete in the Starkville Regional in 2021 and the Auburn Regional in 2023. During his time at Samford. Moss tutored eight Power 5 transfers and four MLB draft picks: Colton Ledbetter (2nd), Sonny Dichiara (5th) Branden Fryman (21st), Anthony Mulrine (25th). Samford’s 2023 offense broke the school record for home runs with 103.
Moss began his coaching career by spending two years as an assistant at University of Montevallo under Chandler Rose. In 2016, Falcon hitters hit .312 with 108 doubles and 72 home runs. He coached DII All-Southeast Region selection, Taylor Walker as well as MLB draft picks Dane Hutcheon (Twins, 29th) and Tyler Krabbe (Astros, 19th). During his time at Lawson State CC, he was the recruiting coordinator, hitting and catching coach. Moss mentored Jackson Tate who would go on to play for the Crimson Tide and get drafted in the 32nd round to the Seattle Mariners.
A graduate of Calhoun HS, Moss was a catcher at Samford (2009-12), where he ranks up at the top of the list in games played as well as being the single season and career sacrifice bunts leader. As a senior, he batted .321 with 44 RBI and 48 runs scored plus a team-high 44 walks. In 2012, Moss led Samford to their first SoCon Championship and the program’s first NCAA tournament. He was selected to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. He earned a degree in Exercise Science from Samford. After his collegiate career, Moss signed a Free Agent contract with the San Francisco Giants.
Moss is married to the former Arica Dykes, They have two children, Emma Kathryn (3) and Maddie Claire (born March 23, 2023).
