BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball Head Coach Casey Dunn has released the full 2026 schedule, a slate highlighted by 31 home games—29 at Young Memorial Field and two at Regions Field. The Blazers will play 29 games against opponents who finished inside the top 100 of the 2025 RPI, according to Warren Nolan.
"We have compiled a challenging schedule for the upcoming season," said Dunn. "Our journey commences with a great opponent, a Top 5 ranked Florida. As a coach, I am driven by the desire to compete against the best, and our players share this enthusiasm."
HOME GAMES
After opening the season on the road, UAB will have an 8-game homestand at Young Memorial Field. The Cincinnati Bearcats come to town for the first four games (February 20-22) followed by a midweek game against Alabama State (February 24), and a 3-game series with Jacksonville the following weekend.
The next six home games are against teams from the greater Nashville area as UAB welcomes Middle Tennessee (March 6-8) and Belmont (March 13-15) to YMF. The Blazers also host Alabama A&M on March 17.
The next homestand for the Green and Gold is a 5-game stretch the last full week of March. The week is bookended by midweek games against Jacksonville State (March 24) and North Alabama (March 31). The Blazers' first American Conference home series is against Tulane on March 27-29.
UAB is home for just two weekends in the month of April. The Blazers host Wichita State (April 10-12) and Memphis (April 24-26) and also play the first of two games at Regions Field against Alabama on April 21.
The final homestand of the season is another 5-game stretch as the Blazers play host to Auburn at Regions Field (May 5), followed by the final American Conference home series against Charlotte (May 8-10), and wrapping up with Troy at YMF on May 12.
"We are fortunate to host four non-conference weekends at home prior to traveling to East Carolina for the commencement of conference play," Dunn added. "Additionally, we will play in 28 games on campus, as well as both Alabama and Auburn at Regions Field. This schedule includes 12 power 4 games and the opportunity to face the best teams in our state during the midweek. Our state boasts several strong baseball programs, resulting in a grueling midweek schedule."
ROAD GAMES
UAB opens the 2026 campaign with four road contests, highlighted by a three-game series at SEC power Florida on February 13-15. The Blazers then travel to Florence to face North Alabama on February 17.
March is dominated by home games, but UAB plays five times on the road during the month. The Blazers match up with South Alabama in Montgomery on March 3 and Auburn on March 10 for midweek matchups. UAB's first road series in conference play comes March 20-22 as the Blazers travel to Greenville to take on defending American Athletic Conference Tournament champion East Carolina.
The Blazers begin April with a 4-game road stretch, starting with a conference series at Florida Atlantic on April 2-4. UAB then heads to Starkville for an April 7 contest at Mississippi State.
Following a brief return home, UAB hits the road for four more games, beginning with a midweek contest at Alabama on April 14 and continuing with a three-game series at South Florida on April 17-19.
The final month of the regular season includes two trips to Texas. UAB travels to Houston to face Rice on May 1-3 before heading to San Antonio for a series at UTSA on May 14-16.
"Last season, the American Conference witnessed the emergence of two teams that advanced to the super regional and regional final, respectively," said Dunn. "I anticipate that our league will experience another strong season this year. The increased investment in baseball programs by numerous teams within the league suggests that our conference will continue to thrive."
POSTSEASON
The American Conference Baseball Tournament will once again be held in Clearwater, Florida at BayCare Ballpark, the home of the Clearwater Threshers and the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The top eight American Conference teams will advance to the tournament.
