Revelette enters his third season as the pitching coach for the UAB baseball program.
In year one, Revelette made his mark by molding UAB's highest draft pick in program history as right-handed pitcher Graham Ashcraft was selected in the sixth round (174 overall) of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds following the season. Ashcraft led the team in 2019 with 53 strikeouts.
Seventeen picks later, Aaron Ochsenbein - whom Revelette had coached at Eastern Kentucky from 2016-2018 - was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ochsenbein was the highest draft pick from EKU since 2008.
During the 2020 season, Revelette continued to make an impact within the program. The pitchers saw an improvement in team total ERA, batting average against and home runs per 9 innings when the season came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
UAB also led Conference USA in saves (5) and stolen bases against percentage (.606) during the season. Mac McCarthy threw 16 innings, while holding a 0.00 ERA with five saves, three hits, two walks and 16 strikeouts. McCarthy also led the NCAA with a 0.31 WHIP and 1.69 hits allowed per 9 innings; eighth in the country in saves.
Left-handed pitcher, Austin Bohannon, produced a 2.66 ERA through five starts, including an opening day no-hit bid versus Notre Dame that lasted a career-high 6.1 innings pitched in 2020.
Since 2013, Revelette has coached 22 players who have either been drafted or signed with MLB teams.
He came to Birmingham after having spent three seasons in the same role at Eastern Kentucky. In his time at EKU, Revelette helped the Colonels set the school record for strikeouts in a season with 504 in 2018, while also setting the program record for punchouts per 9 innings.
Revelette's staff helped EKU to three consecutive 20+ win seasons, including 30 in 2018, and a trip to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament semi-finals.
Before arriving at EKU, Revelette spent three years at Baylor where he joined as the Director of Operations in 2012, before spending the 2014 season as the hitting and outfield coach. IN 2015, he transitioned into the Bears' pitching coach.
Prior to his time in Waco, he spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as an assistant coach at Transylvania University. Additionally, he spent three summers as the general manager and assistant coach of the Lexington Hustlers in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League where he coached nine future MLB Draft picks and 11 league all-stars.
Revelette began his collegiate playing career at Dayton before transferring to Kentucky for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. In 2006, under the pitching instruction of Gary Henderson, he helped the Wildcats to the SEC Championship.
Following his career at Kentucky, Revelette played four seasons of professional baseball from 2006-09 with the Minnesota Twins organization and in the Frontier League.
Revelette earned his undergraduate degree in communications from Kentucky in 2007 and completed his master's degree in applied management at Indiana Wesleyan in 2013.
A Lexington, Ky., native, Adam is married to the former Maggie Etheredge. The couple has two young children, Nolan and Mary Gwen.
