BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Softball team (9-11) falls to #22 Alabama (15-6) by a final score of

The final day of the Crimson Classic ended with a valiant effort against the #22 ranked team in the country. UAB scored three runs in the first inning to get things started. Back to back singles put Hannah Dorsett and Hope Tucker on base, forcing Alabama into a tough fielding situation early. Alabama committed an error allowing one run to score and then a Hannah Miles single scored two more runs.

Alabama answered the Blazers first inning with three of their own in the third. Tait Davidson came in after that and pitched three innings just giving up two hits. No runs scored in innings three or four.

Alabama scored a run in the sixth inning before hitting a two run homer in the seventh inning.

UAB threatened in the seventh inning with Jenna Madison getting thrown out at home. The Final score was UAB 3, Alabama 6.
