RICHMOND, Ky. – UAB women's tennis (11-5) took down Eastern Kentucky (7-12) 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Blazers opened the match by taking the doubles point. Vanessa Mellynchuk and Mackenzie White earned a victory on Court 1. Maria Paz Ospina and Enya Ratkic were able to claim a win on Court 3.

1. Vanessa Mellynchuk/Mackenzie White (UAB) def. Anastas Cherniakova/Masha Fedenko (EKU) 6-3
2. Marilou Cote/Ceylin Ipek (EKU) vs. Kristyna Damaskova/Nera Tesankic (UAB) 5-2, unfinished
3. Maria Paz Ospina/Enya Ratkic (UAB) def. Zhansaya Bakytzhan/Jacey Wilson (EKU) 6-3
UAB was able to capture all six singles points to secure the victory. Mellynchuk earned her 11th singles win on Court 1 in a three-set thriller, while Damaskova claimed her 13th win in singles on Court 2. White, Ratkic and Nera Tesankic all claimed wins while Ospina claimed her first win of the season.
