Baseball Falls in Tight Conference Contest

UAB trailed early in this one, because of a four-run Tulane 2nd inning. The runs were all unearned because of an error by the Blazers that then allowed Colin Tuft to hit a grand slam.
Tulane added another two runs in the 3rd inning. A fielding error scored one run and then a fielder's choice scored the other run. Tulane was able to grab four hits before UAB had any.
The Green and Gold finally got on the board in the 4th inning, and did so in a big way. The Blazers scored nine 4th inning runs to take a 9-6 lead. UAB hit the ball eight times in the inning, and were able to do so on three scoring plays. The first was a Brayton Brown three run bomb for his eight RBI of the series. The next scoring play was a Payton Puckett single to right field, which was able to score Tyler Waugh and Nick Hollifield, because of the throw from outfield.The last scoring play was a grand slam by pinch hitter, Alana Choo.
There was at least one run in the next four innings of the game. Tulane scored the next four runs on two singles and two triples in innings five and six. This would put the score at UAB 9, Tulane 10.
In the 6th inning, UAB also scored, but this time it was only three runs. Darryl Buggs, Logan Braunschweig, and Brayton Brown all earned one RBI in the inning. Brown earned his 9th RBI of the series.
Tulane scored another four runs in innings seven and eight. A solo home run, a double, and a single scored the four runs for the Green Waves. UAB converted on a Mayes White single that scored Braunschweig from 2nd base.
