Casey Dunn Gets 600th Win: Baseball Wins Game One

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Baseball team has now won two straight games with their win over Charlotte. The Blazers did just about everything right in a 7-4 win.

UAB started off the scoring With a Peyton Puckett ground out that scored Darryl Buggs. Braunschweig and Buggs got on base with singles, while Brown loaded the bases with a walk. Charlotte answered right away by hitting back to back home runs.

Blayze Berry started off dealing two strikeouts in the first inning, but then the back to back home runs came up. The four runs that Charlotte scored were from three home runs.

The Green and Gold scored the next six runs to take a 7-2 lead. Mayes White drove across the first of the six runs with a bunt single. UAB put down two push bunts today that resulted in singles. The Blazers then put together a five hit, five run 5th inning. Tyler Waugh singles up the middle to score Peyton Puckett. Tyler Harrington went two for three on the day with an RBI single to center field. Buggs also singled in the inning to score Tyler Waugh. The 5th run of the inning came on a sacrifice fly, which was unearned.

The last run of the game came on the 3rd home run for Charlotte. This time it was a two run home run by AJ Bianchina.
