Tallahassee - The UAB women's tennis team will leave this Thursday to head down to Tallahassee, Florida. The Blazers will play Florida A&M on Feb. 9 and Florida State on Feb. 10.
This will be the first meeting for the Blazers and Florida A&M. On the other hand, Florida State has dominated the matchup against UAB with a 4-0 winning streak. However, the Blazers are vying to secure their first win of the season.
We interviewed head coach Mark Tjia to hear his thoughts about the upcoming weekend and the team's progress.
'I'm excited about traveling to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M and FSU," said coach Tjia. "Both programs were in the NCAA tournament last year, so it will certainly be a challenging weekend for us."
"I think we made some progress this past weekend, despite the heartbreaking loss to Mississippi State," says coach Tjia. "We looked like we enjoyed the battle on Saturday, and that was fun to be part of even though it certainly hurt to come that close and not cross the line." "I am looking forward to seeing how we deal with adversity as we progress through the season."
The Blazers will return to the Hoover Met on Feb. 13 to take on North Alabama at 1 p.m.
