TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The UAB women's tennis team (1-5) picked up its first win of the season on Friday afternoon at Florida A&M (1-4), downing the Rattlers, 6-1.

The Blazers opened the match by taking the doubles point. Vanessa Mellynchuck and Mackenzie White took care of business on Court 1 with a 6-2 win over Sierra Sandy and Larissa Silva. Adela Wasserbauerova and Sydney Clarke secured the doubles point by defeating Genesis Whitelock and Sara Rakim 6-4.

UAB captured five of six singles points, capped off by a three-set match on Court 3. Clarke was able to come back after dropping the first set to earn UAB its sixth point and conclude the match.
