Women's Tennis Gears Up for Austin Peay

Birmingham - The UAB women's tennis team will take on Austin Peay on Feb 29 at the Hoover Met. The match is set for 1 p.m.
The Blazers are on a three-match winning streak after defeating their rival Samford last week Thursday. We interviewed Vanessa Mellynchuk to hear her thoughts about the team's progress this season.
"I feel very confident in our team as we head into our fifth home match of the season," said Mellynchuk.
"We have been training very hard, and we have lots of momentum coming off a three match winning streak.
"The season did not start off how we would have liked, but we have been improving tremendously since then. We have started to see our mental and physical improvements show up on match days.
"I am looking forward to seeing our hard work in practice and weights pay off in our matches. We have also been working on improving our mental strength, which will definitely lead us to achieving great things by the end of the season."
The Blazers will face off against Alabama State and Alabama A&M this weekend, Mar. 2-3, at the Hoover Met.
