UAB Women’s Tennis Battles Back to Beat Samford

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's tennis defeated Samford at the Hoover Met Tennis Complex, 4-3 on Thursday afternoon.

Vanessa Mellynchuk and Mackenzie White earned a doubles win, but it wasn't enough as Samford earned wins on Court 2 and 3 to claim the doubles point.

After dropping the doubles point, the Blazers won four singles points. The match was tied at 3-3 and it was down to Court 1. Adela Wasserbauerova won set one 6-4 on Court 1, but Alexis Lopez took set two 7-6(8) to force a deciding third set.

Wasserbauerova was down 4-0, but fought back to claim the third set 7-5 and clinched the match for UAB.
