Men's Soccer Falls after Late FGCU Goal

FORT MYERS, Fla. – UAB men's soccer (0-3-2) fell on the road at Florida Gulf Coast (1-2-2) after the Eagles scored a late goal to take the contest, 2-1.
FGCU took the lead early in the match with a goal in the sixth minute. The Blazers had a handful of chances in the first half and put pressure on the FGCU back line, but they could not find the back of the net for the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, UAB was able to equalize. Zsombor Kalnoki-Kis scored his second goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 60th minute to level the score at 1-1.
UAB was unable to hold on to the result, however, as FGCU scored the go-ahead goal in the 79th minute to take a 2-1 lead that would prove to be the game-winner.
