Men's Soccer Drops AAC Opener to Charlotte

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer (0-4-2, 0-1-0 AAC) fell in its AAC opener on Sunday afternoon against Charlotte (2-1-1, 1-0-0 AAC) by a score of 3-0.

Charlotte took the lead less than two minutes into the match with after Brigham Larsen played the ball across to Filip Jauk, who found the back of the net. The Blazers were able to put together a few quality chances off corners, but UAB could not get any shots on target.

Leading 1-0 at the break, the 49ers once again scored early in the half. Brigham Larsen found the back of the net after only 20 seconds of action to make it a 2-0 contest.

The 49ers added another goal in the 58^th minute to put the match away for good as Larsen added a second goal.

The loss snaps the Blazers' four-match unbeaten streak at PNC Field.

The Blazers will go on the road to Temple on Saturday, Sept. 23 for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff.
