Men's Basketball Hosts FIU for Kids Takeover Day

BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (16-7, 7-5 C-USA) will host FIU (12-11, 6-6 C-USA) on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. CT. Saturday's contest is Kids Takeover Day at Bartow Arena.
Kids Takeover Day is highlighted by the baby race at halftime and features a Family 4 Pack including four tickets, four popcorns and four hotdogs for just $40.

Saturday's contest will air on ESPN+ with Curt Bloom and Mo Finley on the call.
RADIO
David Crane and Steve Mitchell will call the game for the Blazers on 100.5 ESPN JOX 2.
SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series between the Blazers and the Panthers is tied at 6-6. FIU is the only current C-USA member that UAB does not have a winning record against. The Blazers fell in overtime, 90-87, in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season in Miami.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers knocked off No. 19 Florida Atlantic at Bartow Arena on Thursday evening, ending their 20-game winning streak. Eric Gaines finished with a game-high 21 points while going 10-for-11 from the free throw line. Jordan Walker made his return from injury in the contest, scoring 13 points and dishing out six assists. UAB led by as many as 16 points in the second half.

The Blazers are one of the best teams in the country at getting to the charity stripe. UAB leads the nation in free throws made per game at 18.6 while ranking second nationally in free throw attempts per game with 25.2. At the line, the Blazers are knocking down their attempts at a 73.6 percent clip, ranking 100th in the country.

UAB currently ranks near the top of the NCAA leaderboards in rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game. The Blazers currently sit at No. 3 in the NCAA in rebounds per game at 41.6 and No. 2 in offensive rebounds per game at 14.1. The Blazers lead Conference USA in both categories.
NOTHING BUT "NET"
The Blazers currently sit at No. 67 in the NCAA's NET ranking system. UAB is the third-highest rated team in Conference USA, trailing only Florida Atlantic at No. 21 and North Texas at 62. Charlotte is just behind the Blazers at No. 99 to round out the Top 100 for Conference USA.
