Blazers Fall to No. 20 Auburn

AUBURN – UAB Softball (7-5, 0-0 C-USA) ceased their four-game streak with a 1-10 loss to the No. 20 Auburn Tigers in five innings. The Blazers tallied two hits to the Tigers' 13, and two errors to Auburn's zero.
UAB (1) - AUBURN (10)
The game started with an early run on the board from the Tigers' McCondichie, who sent a single up the middle and advanced on the throw. Peralta advanced to third and scored on an error. The Tigers totaled five runs in the first inning, including two homers to give Auburn a 5-0 lead in the opening inning.
In the second and third inning, the Tigers scored four more runs to extend the lead to 9-0. The Blazers responded with a pitching change to Caitlin Russell, who would only allow one run from the Tigers when stepping into the circle.
Senior Sierra Frazier stepped to the plate at the top of the fourth to deliver a homer to center field to quell the scoring drought. The Tigers responded with one more run at the bottom of the fourth inning from Milanowski. Auburn left two runners on base and would not score again.
The game came to an end off a fly ball out to center field from Kaily Collett.

The Blazers return to action on Friday, Feb. 24, when they host the 2023 Green & Gold Classic. Their first matchup begins at 1:30 PM against Cleveland State, followed by a 3:45 PM matchup against Butler.
