UAB Women’s Tennis Defeats Samford 4-3

HOMEWOOD, Ala. – Coming off the momentum of Sunday's home opening victory over George State, the UAB women's tennis team defeated Samford 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Blazers (4-3) won the doubles point with Vanessa Mellynchuk and Enya Ratkic winning on Court 3 by the score of 6-3. Mackenzie White and Adela Wasserbauerova clinched the point on Court 2, winning 7-5.
 
Wasserbauerova made the score 2-0 after a straight set win on Court 2, 6-3, 6-2. Maggie White came from behind to win Court 1 4-6, 7-6, 6-1 and Ratkic's win on Court 5 7-5, 6-3 sealed the match.
 
Up next, UAB heads to Auburn to face Belmont in a neutral site match on Feb. 18 before facing the Tigers the following day. The next home match on March 4 against Lipscomb at the Hoover Met.
