UAB Women’s Tennis Travels to Alabama, Home Opener Against Georgia State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead of them beginning Feb. 11 when they visit Alabama. On Sunday, the Blazers return home to host Georgia State in its home opener at the Hoover Met Tennis Courts.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (2-2) are coming off a 4-1 victory over North Alabama on Feb. 8. Additionally, UAB defeated Alabama State on Feb. 3. The two losses were against Kennesaw State, 4-3 on Feb. 5 and the season opener at Mississippi State.
Against the Bulldogs, the Blazers won the doubles point and had MSU unnerved. Maggie White took Emmanouela Antonaki the distance on Court 1, falling in a 3-set breaker. Adela Wasserbauerova and Mackenzie White also went three sets on Courts 2 and 4, with both dropping a hard-fought third set 7-5 against Gia Cohen and Chloé Cirotte. Annalisa Smith took the No.61 ranked player Maria Rizzolo to three sets.
ALABAMA INFO
The Crimson Tide (3-2) dropped two of its last three, including a 4-0 shutout at TCU. The match will have live stats powered by StatBroadcast. Video will be available on Track Tennis.
GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers (0-4) are looking for their first win of the season.
