UAB Baseball Falls to Charlotte in Series Opener, 6-3

CHARLOTTE, N.C. β The UAB baseball team fell to Charlotte in the first of three games on Friday night by the score of 6-3 at Hayes Stadium.

The Blazers (23-14, 8-8 C-USA) scored all three of their runs via homers with a two-run shot by Caleb Floyd in the second inning and a solo homer by Christian Hall in the fourth.

However, Charlotte (21-16, 6-10 C-USA) plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and added an insurance run in the seventh to claim the 6-3 victory.

The decisive play in the sixth was grand slam from Charlotte's left fielder Will Butcher which put the 49ers ahead for good.
