BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (6-1) will face off with South Alabama (3-5) on Sunday afternoon in Bartow Arena at 1 p.m. CT on ESPNU. At halftime of the contest, there will be a teddy bear toss to benefit UAB IT's toy drive.
Sunday's game is also Educator Appreciation Night. All local educators are able to purchase tickets for $10Β here.

SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers lead the all-time series 30-14 against South Alabama. The former Sun Belt foes have not played in nearly 10 years with the last meeting being a 92-78 Blazers win on Dec. 8, 2012.

The Blazers defeated Jacksonville 80-61 as Jordan Walker dropped 26 points. UAB became only the second team to score at least 80 points during Jordan Mincy's tenure with the Dolphins.

Jordan "Jelly" Walker currently leads the nation in points per game at 25.0. He dropped 38 points in the season opener against Alabama State, the most scored by a UAB player in a season opener ever. Walker then captured Sunshine Slam MVP honors after scoring 31 points to go along with 6 rebounds, five assists and five steals against Georgia. He earned C-USA Player of the Week honors for his performance in the tournament.

FAST PACED, HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
The Blazers are yet again one of the highest scoring teams in the country under Andy Kennedy. After finishing the 2021-22 season ranking sixth in points per game nationally, UAB is yet again in the top ten across the country. At 92.1 points per game, the Blazers currently rank fifth in Division I. UAB and Missouri are the only two teams in the country that have scored at least 80 points in every game this season. According to KenPom, the Blazers' tempo ranks seventh in the nation.

The Blazers have shown a plethora of scoring options in 2022-23. Eleven different Blazers have already finished in double figures in a game this season, including Jordan Walker, Eric Gaines, KJ Buffen, Ledarrius Brewer, Javian Davis, Tavin Lovan, Trey Jemison, Ty Brewer, Tyler Bertram, Efrem Johnson and Tony Toney.
