Women’s Tennis Travels to Alabama on Saturday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team continues its challenging nonconference schedule on Jan. 29 when it faces Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Match time is scheduled for 10 a.m. The match will have live stats which can be accessed here.
UAB LATELY
UAB (0-2) is coming off a pair of setbacks last weekend. On Jan. 22 they fell to Furman 5-2 and Jan. 23 they lost to No. 25 Auburn.
ALABAMA LATELY
Alabama (2-0) was a 6-1 winner over Samford and defeated Troy 7-0 last weekend. The Crimson Tide have three nationally ranked singles players in Loudmilla Bencheikh (No. 88) and Petra Sedlackova (103) as well as the No. 19 ranked doubles team in Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser.
THE SERIES
Alabama has dominated the series, wining 23 of the 24 meetings. The Blazers lone victory was in 1998, a 7-2 win over the No. 62 ranked Crimson Tide.
UP NEXT
The Blazers will play their next two matches in Homewood, facing Samford on Feb. 2 and Central Arkansas on Feb. 5. UAB's home opener is Feb. 6 against Chattanooga at Lakeshore Tennis Courts.
