BIRMINGHAM – The UAB baseball team welcomes in-state opponent Troy on Tuesday, April 13, at Regions Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
UAB (10-20, 3-9 C-USA) VS. TROY (14-16, 3-6 SBC)
UAB holds the overall series record versus Troy, 30-25. The Blazers and Trojans have met once this season on Feb. 23 in Troy, Ala. that went the way of the Trojans, 10-3.
PITCHING MATCHUP
LHP Carson Knight (2-3, 8.89 ERA) vs. LHP Ryan Pettys (0-0, 5.79 ERA)
UAB LATELY
The Green and Gold are coming off its third conference series at Southern Miss. Freshman Chandler Simpson leads the team with a .329 batting average and second in stolen bases (12).
TROY LATELY
In the last series for Troy, it fell to Sun Belt Conference opponent Texas Southern, 2-1. Logan Cerny ranks ninth in the nation and first in conference with 11 home runs.
STATS RANKINGS
As a team, the Blazers are second in Conference USA in stolen bases (39) and stolen bases per game (1.30). Jess Davis (14) is second and Chandler Simpson (12) is third in the conference in stolen bases this season. Simpson is top-10 in the nation as one of the toughest to strikeout, with only five in 85 plate appearances on the season.

Jess Davis has 68 career stolen bases. He sits seventh in program history and needs four more to move into a tie for sixth.
