Women’s Tennis Has Strong Showing at Samford Round Robin 2

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team participated in the Samford Round Robin 2 this weekend. In addition to the Blazers and host Samford, teams from Troy, Memphis and WKU made up the field.
UAB went 18-7 overall in singles and 7-6 in doubles.
Coming off a flight championship last weekend at Mercer, Alexandra da Silva went a perfect 3-0 in singles. Mackenzie White, Adela Wasserbauerova and Vanessa Mellynchuk were also 3-0 in singles. Sydney Clarke and Enya Ratkic picked up a pair of wins while Jana Hecking, Maggie White and Annalisa Smith each had one victory for the Blazers.
In doubles, UAB won three of their four matches against WKU, two versus the Memphis/Troy squad and one against Samford.
Up next, UAB will participate in the ITA Southern Regional beginning Thursday
