Women’s Tennis Opens Spring Play at Alabama

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team will open the 2019 spring schedule with a match at Alabama on Sunday morning in Tuscaloosa.

The Blazers were set to open the season on Saturday vs. Belmont but that match was canceled due to inclement weather in Birmingham.

UAB returns to familiar territory as the Blazers ended the fall schedule with three players participating in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by Alabama. Two Blazers, Jana Hecking and Hana Sisirak, won their singles draw at that tournament. Additionally, Hecking and Dominika Hrabalova won the back end of their double draw.

UAB will look to improve upon a 12-12 record from last season and enters the 2019 campaign returning every player from last year, including junior Marlene Herrmann who finished with a 14-4 individual record.
