Blazers Return to Action vs. Jacksonville State/at Troy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After an unexpected weekend off, the UAB baseball team returns to action with two mid-week games. The Blazers host Jacksonville State on Tuesday at Regions Field at 4 p.m. before a trip to Troy, Ala., on Wednesday to take on the Trojans at Riddle-Pace Field beginning at 6 p.m.
Quick Hitters
- UAB (4-1) had its weekend series at Arkansas State cancelled due to bad weather in Jonesboro. The Green and Gold's last game was on Wednesday, Feb. 21, a 2-1 home win over Alabama State
- The Blazers' arms have a combined 1.80 ERA, the seventh lowest mark in the NCAA

Scouting Jacksonville State
Jacksonville State (5-2) is coming off of a 2-1 series win over Radford last weekend. Three Gamecock pitchers threw a combined no-hitter in the series finale on Saturday afternoon en route to a 5-0 win.
Nic Gaddis leads the offense hitting .364 with a team-best five doubles and .500 on-base percentage. On the mound, the Gamecocks have five pitchers yet to give up a run. Colton Pate has surrendered just one hit over 11 innings pitched this season.
Scouting Troy
After opening the season 4-0, Troy has dropped its previous four games and enters Wednesday night's matchup 4-4, including losing all three at Florida State over the weekend.
Matt Sanders has had a steady bat for Troy, hitting .469 with four home runs. The senior has a remarkable .938 slugging percentage with eight RBI.
