Need to Know
The Green and Gold went 1-4 in the opening weekend of the season dropping games to Michigan, USF, Georgia State and No. 2 Florida. Despite the record, the Blazers showed an ability to get runners on base all weekend.
In total, UAB left 39 runners on base in its first five games of the season.
Freshman Emily Kachel showed a dominate streak in the circle, no-hitting Florida for five of the six innings she pitched against last seasons' WCWS runner up.
Continuing to put runners on, continued strong pitching and eliminating big innings will be key for UAB this weekend as they look to get back on track.
History Against the Field
UAB is 2-3 all-time against the field this weekend. The Blazers have never faced Army or Weber State.

The Green and Gold have only met the Cardinal once on Feb. 26, 2005. Stanford came away with the win 5-4.
Cal Poly
The Blazers only showdown with the Mustangs was on Feb. 24, 2008 which ended with Cal Poly taking home the win 5-2.
UCLA
UAB and UCLA met up in the 2013 NCAA Regional as the Blazers pulled the upset and took two of three games against the Bruins to advance to the 2013 NCAA Super Regional. UAB won the first game 6-3, lost the second 4-1 and came back to win the third game, 3-2.
