Joshua Lane enters his eighth season overall with the Blazers in 2023-24. He was announced as the director of player relations on June 5, 2022.
In the 2023-24 season, Lane helped guide the Blazers to a 23-12 record. UAB earned two ranked wins during the year over No. 19 Memphis and No. 20 Florida Atlantic. The Blazers won the AAC Tournament championship in their first season in the conference and punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
The 2022-23 season saw the Blazers post a program record 29 wins and a second consecutive appearance in the CUSA Championship game. The Blazers held a 3-0 record against SEC competition with wins over Georgia, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The Blazers reached the NIT Championship game for the first time in program history.
Prior to the 2022-23 season, Lane, a native of Mobile, Alabama. Spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at UAB. The Blazers captured the 2022 Conference USA Tournament Championship and made their 16th NCAA Tournament. In 2021-22, UAB set a then-program record with 27 wins.
During the past year, Lane was selected to take part in the Top Connect Leadership Academy and graduated with a master’s degree in business administration from UAB.
Prior to his time as a graduate assistant, Lane was a student manager for four years. He was one of 48 managers selected for the inaugural NCAA Academy during the summer of 2019.
