American Conference Weekly Honors: Chance Westry

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - Chance Westry was named to the American Conference weekly awards for his performances against Memphis and Rice last week. The Blazers went 1-1 with their first home conference win of the season against Rice, improving to 15-9 with a 6-5 American Conference record.
Westry earned honorable mention, starting off the week with 15 points and six assists against Memphis. Following that performance with 22 points and nine assists against Memphis.
Westry shot four three-point shots on the week, averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 assists over the two-game span. He is averaging 15.2 points and 4.8 assists per game so far this season.
UAB is back in action on Wednesday night when they face league leading Tulsa. Tippoff is set for 7:00 p.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma on ESPN+.
