UAB Drops Home Contest Against Tulsa

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB Men's Basketball team (12-7, 3-3 American) dropped their third straight conference home game against Tulsa (15-3, 3-2 American) 99-77. KyeRon Lindsay-Martin led the team with 15 points and six rebounds on 5-of-9 shooting.
Tulsa had two 25+ scorers in David Green (26) and Miles Barnstable (25). Barnstable went 8-of-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from behind the arch.

- Chance Westry scored his 300th career point this afternoon. Daniel Rivera also hit a milestone, scoring his 1,000th career point this afternoon.
- Tulsa shot 69.0% in the second half, the second-best shooting performance by a UAB opponent this season (NC State 69.2% in the second half).
- Tulsa made 20 and 19 shots in the second half and first half, respectively, the most and second-most field goals made in a half by a UAB opponent this season. The Golden Hurricane's 39 made field goals are the most by an opponent this season.
- Tulsa got their highest net ranking win since beating UNI (106) on Nov. 26.
- Tulsa shot just one free throw in the first half on four first half fouls.
- Third straight game of scoring 15+ points for Lindsay-Martin and the third straight game that Jacob Meyer has scored 10+.
- UAB was out rebounded 37-28 and has been out rebounded five out of the first six conference games.
- Tulsa had one steal, which is the least by an opponent this season (three).
- UAB shot 44% from the field (28-for-64), 33% from three (5-for-15), and 73% from the free-throw line (16-for-22).
- Tulsa scored the first points of the game behind a Tyler Behrand lay-in on the opening possession [0-2].
- After another Golden Hurricane make, the Blazers responded with a Meyer jumper and an emphatic Chatman steal-and-slam to tie the game at four [4-4].
- UAB and Tulsa traded baskets to a 9-8 Tulsa lead, then back-to-back three-point plays by Barnstable extended the Tulsa lead to seven [8-15].
- Tulsa's third three-pointer of the game forced a UAB timeout after the Golden Hurricane held the Blazers scoreless from the field for three minutes [10-20].
- A 10-2 UAB run, including back-to-back threes from Westry and Robinson pulled the Blazers back within two [20-22].
- Ari Gooch forced Tulsa into a turnover and a fastbreak opportunity for Jacob Meyer. He sank a 20-foot jumper, ending a 6-0 run by the Blazers [30-31].
- Tulsa ended the half on a 6-0 run with two David Green three-point shots [37-26].
- Daniel Rivera scored his 1000th career point on a tough lay-in.
- Tulsa came out on the half on an 8-2 run including three different scorers [39-54].
- Jalen Lawal gave the Golden Hurricanes their largest lead of the game (19) with 11:52 left to play [52-71].
- Tulsa went on three 6+ scoring runs without UAB scoring in the second half. The last one came with 6:54 to go with another three by Barnstable.
- Ahmad Robinson scored four of the Blazers final five points, but UAB was outscored 53-40 in the second half.
