The American Announces UAB Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas – The American Conference released the UAB men's basketball conference slate on Thursday morning to complete the Blazers 2025-26 schedule.
UAB opens conference play on New Year's Eve at Bartow Arena against Wichita State. This will be the second time ever UAB has hosted Wichita State with the first coming during the 2024 season.
The Blazers will play back-to-back Florida opponents starting with a road trip to Tampa to face South Florida (Jan. 4) and a home game against Florida Atlantic (Jan. 7). Four days later, UAB hits the road for two contests against East Carolina (Jan. 11) and Tulane (Jan. 14). The Blazers will trade two home, two away, and two home again for the next six games starting with Tulsa (Jan. 18) and South Florida (Jan. 22). January ends when UAB heads to Texas for two matchups against UTSA (Jan. 28) and North Texas (Jan. 31).
February starts off with two home games against Rice (Feb. 8) and Memphis (Feb. 5). Three out of the next four games are on the road starting with a road trip to Tulsa (Feb. 11) marking the third-straight season traveling to Oklahoma. Following a home game against Tulane (Feb. 15), UAB travels to Temple (Feb. 18) and Memphis (Feb. 22).
After a week off, UAB will play two out of the last three games at home starting with North Texas (March 1) then a road game at Charlotte (March 4) before ending the season against East Carolina at home (March 8).
The American Conference tournament is set for March 11-15 in Birmingham at the BJCC. This is the first time Birmingham will host the American Conference Tournament. The Blazers are coming off their fifth straight 20-win season and four straight conference championship appearances. Over the last five years, UAB has won 125 games which is tied for eleventh most in the NCAA during that period. The Blazers have four straight post-season appearances including two NCAA tournament appearances and two NIT appearances.
Schedule Notes
- UAB has not lost to Tulsa since January 2011 winning six straight games.
- UAB and North Texas played each other three times last year. UAB won two of those three games.
- USF hired a familiar face in former Arkansas State head coach Bryan Hodgson, whom UAB faced last season.
- UAB has not played South Florida twice in one month since the 2004-05 season.
- Four out of the last five matchups against Tulsa have been in Oklahoma.
- UAB will play on 10 Sundays this season.
