Get to Know the 2025-26 Men’s Basketball Team - Quaran McPherson and Evan Chatman

BIRMINGHAM – Quaran McPherson and Evan Chatman both transferred in and have finished summer practices with the UAB men's basketball team.
Chatman transferred from McLennan CC while McPherson came most recently from Northern Illinois. McPherson and Chatman were able to ask each other a few questions over a game of ping pong after practices concluded.
Q: What made you come to UAB Q?
McPherson Answer: "Coach AK trusting the process for me, and the vision that they got for me and the team. It was a good decision."
Q: What is the biggest thing you have learned in your playing career so far?
Chatman Answer: "Don't take it for granted. I got hurt freshman year and that's when I realized I got to take things more seriously."
Q: What is the coolest venue you have played at?
McPherson Answer: "When I was at Nebraska we played Auburn at the Hawks Arena. That was one of them ones. KD was there."
Q: What do you do outside of playing basketball?
McPherson Answer: "For me it's being a dad. I got a son at home and he is three years old. Most of the time I am in the gym."
Q: What do you do outside of playing basketball?
Chatman Answer: "I don't do much, but I do like to fish."
SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets for the 2025-26 UAB men's basketball season are now available. Season ticket packages include all regular season home games and provide the most cost-effective way for fans to attend games at Bartow Arena.
2024-25 season ticket holder renewal applications are available now through uabsports.com leading into the 2025-26 season. The men's basketball priority seating deadline to complete renewal applications is September 1, 2025. New season ticket holders can purchase by clicking here. Season parking passes are available for $120, and both seating locations and parking will be allocated based on the Blazer Boosters Priority Points System following the September 1st deadline. Premium seating is also available, including hospitality access. Fans may also request additional information by clicking here.
UAB employees and UAB Alumni are eligible to receive a 10% discount off the season ticket price by contacting the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at (205) 975-UAB1. UAB employees are also able to pay for season ticket packages through payroll deduction.
