Men’s Basketball Announces Home Exhibition Game Against Vanderbilt

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Men's Basketball team will face Vanderbilt, an NCAA Tournament team last season, in an exhibition game on Thursday, Oct. 23 in Bartow Arena.
UAB last played Vanderbilt in the NIT Quarterfinal on March 22, 2023 when UAB used a 43-point second half to beat the Commodores 67-59 and advanced to the NIT Semifinals in Las Vegas.
"We are excited to play Vanderbilt in an exhibition game to start our 2025-26 season," head coach Andy Kennedy said. "The Commodores will be the first SEC opponent to play in Bartow Arena since we hosted South Carolina in 2022 and only the third to play in Bartow over the last nine seasons. This NCAA tournament team from last season will be a tremendous early test for our new group of Blazers."
Tickets for the exhibition matchup against Vanderbilt will go on sale to the public on October 14 in conjunction with single game tickets for the 2025-26 season. UAB men's basketball season ticket holders and active Blazer Boosters members will have an exclusive presale for additional 2025-26 single game tickets, including the ability to purchase their season ticket locations for the Vanderbilt exhibition, starting on September 26 prior to going on sale to the general public on October 14. More information will be released at a later date.
Both teams found themselves playing post-season basketball in late March of last year. Vanderbilt finished the season 20-13 with a loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Saint Mary's 56-59.
SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets for the 2025-26 UAB men's basketball season are now available. Season ticket packages include all regular season home games and provide the most cost-effective way for fans to attend games at Bartow Arena.
2024-25 season ticket holder renewal applications are available now through uabsports.com leading into the 2025-26 season. The men's basketball priority seating deadline to complete renewal applications is September 1, 2025. New season ticket holders can purchase by clicking here. Season parking passes are available for $120, and both seating locations and parking will be allocated based on the Blazer Boosters Priority Points System following the September 1st deadline. Premium seating is also available, including hospitality access. Fans may also request additional information by clicking here.
UAB employees and UAB Alumni are eligible to receive a 10% discount off the season ticket price by contacting the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at (205) 975-UAB1. UAB employees are also able to pay for season ticket packages through payroll deduction.
