Softball Welcomes Wichita State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Softball team (15-19, 5-7) will host the Wichita State Shockers (17-17-1, 5-6-1) on Friday-Sunday at 5:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m.
UAB has won two straight series against Tulsa and then Memphis to put the Blazers at 5-7 in the conference. While Wichita State comes off a series tie against South Florida over the weekend. Game three was halted because South Florida needed to catch their flight. The Shockers sit at 5-6-1 in conference play after being picked to win the AAC in the pre-season voting.
UAB will play seven home games over all of April including one midweek against Troy and two conference series against East Carolina and Wichita State. Wichita State leads the five game series 3-2 with the first game coming in the year 2000. That was UAB's first year of having softball. In the first series between UAB and Wichita State in AAC play, the Shockers won games two and three to win the series. UAB was outscored 4-14 over the three games.

SERIES HISTORY
Wichita State leads the series 3-2. The last series went to the Shockers who won games two and three and outscored UAB 14-4. The two teams first played in 2000 at Auburn.
LAST MEETING
Wichita State won the last match up 5-0 on top of two first inning runs. Chloe Barber only gave up three hits for the Shockers.
