BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Softball team (13-18, 3-6) grabbed their second conference win of the year against Tulsa (17-15, 5-4) the Blazers dropped game three of the series against Tulsa 4-0. UAB

IN THE INNINGS
Game two of the series against Tulsa saw zero runs come across the plate. UAB loaded the bases in the first inning, hitting two infield singles and a single to center field. The Blazers were unable to capitalize and the last two batters were retired.

Caroline McLendon allowed just two base runners through two innings. In the third inning Tulsa hit a two-run home run to take a 2-0 lead. Only two base runners found their way on, in innings four and five to leave the score at 2-0.

Ashlyn Shirah pinch hit and went two for two for the game with two singles. Bella Wigins also had a stellar performance going three for three on the day.

Britt Bourgoyne made a crazy diving catch in the seventh inning in foul territory. Tulsa hit another two-run home run to win the game 4-0. UAB left 11 on base and out hit the Tulsa 7-4, bu the two home runs were too much for the Blazers to overcome.
