Blazers Drop First Road Game of the Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's basketball team dropped their first road trip of the year at NC State 94-70 on Friday Night.
Jacob Meyer led UAB with 18 points on 6-of-18 shooting and added five rebounds. Chance Westry chipped in 14 points, while Daniel Rivera contributed 12 to give the Blazers three players in double figures. Seven different Blazers recorded steals, with Jacob Meyer leading the way with three. Evan Chatman led the Blazers on the glass with 10 rebounds and added five points in the game.
Four NC State players scored in double figures, including a game high of 18 from Paul McNeil Jr. and Quadir Copeland. The Wolfpack shot 33% from three-point range and 54% from the field.

- UAB held NC State without a field for 4:47 until the 6:58 mark. The Blazers got out to a three-point lead during that run, which was UAB's biggest lead of the game.
- KyeRon Lindsay-Martin and Daniel Rivera both had a block in the first three minutes.

- Daniel Rivera got his eighth point of the night just before the first media timeout in the second half. He recorded 12 points and seven rebounds in an impressive performance.
- NC State turned it on in the second half and went on a 28-14 run to lead by 69-47 at the 10:19 mark of the second half.
- The Blazers struggled from three-point range hitting just four total threes and did not hit their second until the 7:52 mark.
- NC State outscored UAB 53-37 in the second half, making five second half three-pointers.
