BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - The UAB men's basketball team is back in Bartow Arena on Tuesday for an in-state matchup against Alabama State at 6:30 p.m. This will start a four-game UAB homestand until the next road game on Nov. 24 in Jacksonville, Florida against Southern Illinois.

PROMOTIONS
In honor of Veterans Day, Salute to Service will be the featured promotion for the game! Military members can purchase tickets to the game for themselves and their immediate family members for $8 each (plus taxes and fees) with a valid military ID! The offer is only valid in person at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office.

LAST TIME OUT
- UAB lost a road game at NC State 94-70 on Friday night. Chance Westry and Jacob Meyer had good performances scoring 15 and 14, respectively.
- Westry went 6-for-9 from the field with five assists and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
- This was the first time since 2014 that UAB played on the road at an ACC opponent.
- Alabama State started their season on the road at Florida State with a 101-64 loss.
- Asjon Anderson led the team with 16 points.
- Alabama State reached the NCAA Tournament last season, defeating Saint Francis in a First Four matchup before falling to overall No. 1 seed Auburn, 83–63.
- The Hornets returned seven players from last year's team, bringing in six Division I transfers, two junior college transfers, and one freshman.
- Micah Simpson returns with 6.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
- JaSteven Walker scored 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season.
MILESTONE WATCH
- Daniel Rivera is seven rebounds away from 500 in his collegiate career.
- Rivera scored his 800th point of his collegiate career against NC State.
- Chance Westry set a career high in points with 23 against MVSU.
- KyeRon Lindsay-Martin scored his 300th career point against MVSU on Monday.
- Andy Kennedy is eight wins away from 400 wins as a head coach.
SERIES HISTORY
- This will be the 11th all-time meeting between the two teams. The campuses are separated by just 90.3 miles.
- UAB holds a 10-0 record in the series with the last matchup coming in 2023 (111-70).
- The first matchup in 1988 provided the closest score in series history 87-85.
- The biggest scoring margin was in 2023, UAB won by 41 points.
- UAB last played at Alabama State in 1995, when the Blazers won a triple overtime affair 102-95.
NEW ROSTER
- In this new age of college athletics, UAB returned just one player (Joey Kahn) and zero scholarship players from the 2024-25 season.
- UAB added six Division I transfers, four JUCO transfers, two freshmen and three walk-ons to round out the 2025-26 roster.
- Of those 10 transfers, three have played at three or more schools (KyeRon Lindsay-Martin, Ahmad Rodinson, and Daniel Rivera).
- Dayjaun Anderson, Quaran McPherson, and Chance Westry are the other three Division I transfers.
- Ari Gooch and Evan Chatman both came from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.
SUCCESS UNDER ANDY KENNEDY
- UAB is one of six DI teams to have made four consecutive conference championship games (Houston, Yale, Drake, Gonzaga, and Saint Mary's).
- The Blazers are coming off their fifth straight 20+ win season.
- Over the last five years, UAB has won 125 games which is tied for eleventh most in the NCAA during that period. That is also the most by any UAB coach during a five-year span.
- The Blazers have four straight post-season appearances including two NCAA tournament appearances and two NIT appearances.
