Tulsa Sweeps UAB in American Conference Play

TULSA, Okla. – UAB dropped its Friday night matchup at Tulsa, falling 3–0 (25–22, 25–18, 25–19) inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Set 1 – Tulsa 25, UAB 22
The Blazers went toe-to-toe early, trading points with Tulsa through the midpoint of the opening frame. Mia Reese led the charge with seven kills on .556 hitting in the set, while Jorda Crook added six kills of her own. UAB hit an impressive .351 in the frame and sided out on 58% of opportunities, but Tulsa's hot attack, .436 as a team, proved the difference late as the Golden Hurricane edged out the 25–22 win.
Set 2 – Tulsa 25, UAB 18
UAB continued to battle behind Crook and Kennedy Vaughn, who each chipped in multiple kills, but the Golden Hurricane took control midway through the second set and never looked back. The Blazers hit .273 with 14 kills, led again by Reese and Crook, while setter Izabella Carter guided the offense with 13 assists. Tulsa's front line was efficient once more, hitting .357 with 19 kills and just four errors to take a 2–0 match lead.
Set 3 – Tulsa 25, UAB 19
UAB couldn't regain its early rhythm in the final set, as Tulsa capitalized on Blazer attack miscues. Addyson Smock sparked UAB with three kills and a pair of blocks, while Delaney Bowser anchored the defense with six digs. Annastiina Tarkkanen and Crook combined for several late kills to keep the Blazers close, but Tulsa closed on a 6–3 run to seal the sweep.

The loss drops UAB to 7–10 (0–5 AAC), while Tulsa improves to 14–3 (4–1 AAC).
