Boca Raton, FL - The UAB baseball team continues to move up the American Athletic Conference standings with an 8-inning win over FAU. The Blazers scored 12 runs on 12 hits.

UAB just continued to score more and more runs throughout the game. Innings four-six gave the Blazers nine of their 12 runs. Starting pitching Blayze Berry went seven nearly flawless innings.

Tyler Harrington started off the scoring in the 2nd inning when he hit a double to left field. Harrington went 2-2 with three RBIs and two doubles. Harrington drove in the next run of the game as well, and this was another double in back to back at bats. The 4th inning saw one more run by the Blazers. Gavin Lewis Jr. hit a sacrifice fly to score Mayes White. UAB led 3-1 after four innings, because of a FAU home run.

A five run inning by UAB extended the lead to seven runs. Darryl Buggs cleared the bases on a triple to left field. Lewis Jr. and Logan Braunschweig also recorded RBIs in the inning. Five UAB players recorded multiple hits in the game. In the 6th inning, UAB continued to score with another Tyler Harrington RBI. This was his 3rd of the game and also the 2nd sacrifice fly of the game. Gavin Lewis Jr. also got his 3rd RBI of the game in the 6th inning. He drove in Peyton Puckett with a single to left field. Two more singles in the 8th inning scored the last two runs of the game. UAB uses the run rule and wins 12-1 after eight innings.

UAB only allowed three hits and one run on the day. The Blazers used just two pitchers, as Blayze Berry went seven innings and Ty Hutto went one.
