Blazers Drop Game Two in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX - Game two of a three game series was a close one as the Blazers lost 7-5 to UTSA.
The Roadrunners, still tied for the top team in the conference, were continuing to try and solidify themselves as the best team in the American, with a win here today. They were able to succeed in that, because of the three 1st inning runs. Four hits were able to score three runs and stop Braxton Shelton from getting any pitching rhythm. UAB was able to answer with a two run 3rd inning that came on a Logan Braunschweig single and a throwing error when Braunschweig was stealing 2nd base. Braunschweig went 2 for 4 with another RBI. The score was 3-2 entering the 4th inning. UTSa added another three runs in the bottom of the 3rd with two sacrifice flies and a single from Mark Hinning.
The Roadrunners continued their scoring in the 4th to gain a 7-2 advantage. After 10 straight retired batters, UAB's David Harris was able to score Mayes White with an RBI single. Five UAB Blazers were able to accomplish multiple hits today.
UAB had one final change in the 9th inning down 7-3. David Harris stepped up again to send Tyler Waugh across the plate. After that Darryl Buggs flew out to right field for a sacrifice fly. This made the score 7-5 with two outs. Nick Hollifield and Braunschweig got on base before UTSA got the last out and ended the game.
