Yaxel Lendeborg Announces Intentions to Return for 2024-25 Season

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball forward Yaxel Lendeborg announced that he will be returning to UAB for his senior season in 2024-25 via social media. Lendeborg averaged 13.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game during his first season in Birmingham.
The 6'9" forward set a program record with 370 rebounds, becoming only the second player in UAB history to average a double-double in a season. He also set a program record with 19 double-doubles, the most by a Blazers in a single season.
Lendeborg was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned first team All-AAC honors. He and Zach Edey of Purdue are the only two players in the country with at least five games with 20 points and 15 rebounds this season.
He helped the Blazers capture an American Conference Tournament title during their first year in the league and earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The Pennsauken, N.J. native was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Arizona Western before joining the Blazers ahead of the 2023-24 season.
