Men's Basketball Adds Three on Signing Day

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Men's Basketball coach Andy Kennedy signed three players on National Signing Day. The Blazers added two high school prospects in Lance Carr and Salim London while also adding JUCO forward Evan Chatman.
"We couldn't be more pleased to have these three young men join Blazer Basketball." Kennedy said, "All three are quality people who come from incredible families and outstanding programs. They will help us continue to compete for championships for years to come."
Lance Carr | Dallas, Texas | Kimball HS | 6'7" | Forward
Carr is an athletic wing from the Metroplex that plays on the top 4A team in Texas at Kimball High School. As a Junior, he averaged 12.3 points,10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game, earning First Team All-District honors and First Team Academic All-District honors. Played with Dallas Showtyme on the Under Armour circuit and averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game and earned Under Armour All-Rise Second Team recognition. Carr was named the MVP of the prestigious Steph Curry Underrated Camp after a standout performance. He ranks as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and ESPN.

Evan Chatman | Harker Heights, Texas | Harker Heights HS | McLennan CC | 6'8" | Forward
Chatman is a JUCO forward that has shown flashes of his athleticism and skill at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. In his sophomore season, he is currently averaging 12.3 points and six rebounds per game through the Highlanders' first seven games of the season while shooting 41.2 percent from the three-point line and 83.3 percent from the free throw line. As a senior at Harker Heights High School, Chatman averaged 14 points and six rebounds per game while earning District MVP honors and earning an All-Region selection.

Salim London | Hoover, Ala. | Hoover HS | 6'4" | Guard
London is a highly touted guard from Birmingham that ranks as the No. 91 player in the country according to the ESPN100. He has led Hoover to back-to-back state championships and averaged 17.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game last season while shooting 51 percent from the field and 42 percent from three. Last spring, London played with the Georgia Stars on the EYBL circuit and averaged 16 points, four rebounds and three assists per game.
