Lendeborg Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll After Pair of Dominant Performances

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball forward Yaxel Lendeborg was named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll after a pair of standout performances to lead the Blazers to a 2-0 start in AAC play.
Lendeborg opened the week with a dominant performance at UTSA. The 6'9" junior forward scored 23 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and blocked seven shots while shooting 5-for-6 from three. He entered the game having made only one three-pointer in his collegiate career.
He followed that performance up with another 23-point, 15-rebound outing for his third-straight double-double against South Florida. In each of the last three games, he has scored at least 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
After the first week of conference action, Lendeborg ranks atop the American in rebounds, blocks and three-point percentage, second in scoring and third in free throw percentage in conference play.
The Pennsauken, N.J. native won AAC Player of the Week honors on January 1, 2024 and has now appeared on the honor roll twice.
