Vasquez Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball guard Alejandro Vasquez was named to the AAC weekly honor roll on Monday after averaging 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two wins last week.
Vasquez led the Blazers to an 83-69 win over Tulane last Wednesday while scoring a career-high 28 points and grabbing six rebounds. The junior from Queens, N.Y. shot 10-for-17 from the field and 4-for-9 from three in the game and knocked down all four of his free throw attempts.
He then added nine points and grabbed three rebounds in the Blazers' win over East Carolina on Saturday.
The 6-4 guard is averaging 10.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in his debut season with the Blazers. This is the second time he has been named to the weekly honor roll this season.
UP NEXT
The Blazers take on Charlotte on the road on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
