BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The UAB women's tennis team ended its five-match losing streak on Saturday afternoon after a 5-2 victory over WKU.
The Blazers (8-9, 1-2 C-USA) went ahead when the teams of Adela Wasserbauerova and Mackenzie White along with Enya Ratkic and Vanessa Mellynchuk both won on breakers on Courts 2 and 3.
Melnychuk's 6-0, 6-0 domination on Court 6 put UAB ahead 2-0. Ratkic won on Court 5 2-and-1 and Sydney Clarke got the clincher on Court 2, 4-and-4. Annalisa Smith also won on Court 4, 4-and 3.
Up next, the Blazers host the rescheduled match against Jacksonville State on April 11 at 1 PM at the Hoover Met.
