UAB Women’s Tennis Defeats Middle Tennessee 6-1

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 6-1 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Blazers (9-9, 2-2 C-USA) went ahead when the teams of Sydney Clarke and Maggie White along with Enya Ratkic and Vanessa Mellynchuk both won their doubles matches, 6-4 and 6-0, respectively.
 
UAB won five of the six singles points, four of those coming in straight sets - Annalisa Smith (6-4, 6-2), Mackenzie White (6-3, 6-3), Ratkic (6-3, 6-1) Mellynchuk (6-0, 6-1) along with Clarke winning in a breaker (6-7, 6-4, 10-7).
 
Up next, the Blazers travel to Denton, Texas for the 2023 Conference USA Championship. Seeds and opponent will be determined early next week.
