Blazers Hit the Road to Take On No. 11 Arkansas

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Softball takes a break from conference play this week as they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take on the No. 11 Arkansas Razorbacks at Bogle Park from April 14-16.
The Blazers return to action after a walk-off, series-clinching win over Louisiana Tech and sit at a record of 21-18. UAB also took home a C-USA Player of the Week honor, with Sierra Frazier winning the award for the week of April 10. The Green and Gold take on an Arkansas team they have not played since the late 2000s.

SCOUTING THE RAZORBACKS
Arkansas and UAB revisit after 15 years of not playing each other. Of the three meetings between the Blazers and Razorbacks, the Green and Gold lead the series two wins to one. The last meeting resulted in a 4-2 win for the Blazers.
This season, the Razorbacks sit at a record of 28-12 finishing their weekend series with a walk-off of their own against UGA on April 8. Arkansas ranks third in SEC play and holds the No. 11 spot in ESPN rankings as of April 11.
As a team, the Razorbacks average .272 in batting. Reagan Johnson, who has started and played every game this season, totals 140 at-bats and is hitting .357 for Arkansas. In the circle, the Razorbacks hold opponents to an average of .205 and tally a team ERA of 2.29. Chenice Delce sits at the top of the pack with an ERA of 1.98 and a W/L record of 15-5. The 2022 SEC Pitcher of the Year tallied 12 strikeouts in the Razorbacks' win over Arizona.
